Course Description
This ½ day workshop introduces attendees to processes and tools for comprehensively identifying project stakeholders and created a tailored communications plan to manage stakeholder expectations. In doing so, attendees will use given templates for a Stakeholder Register, Stakeholder Analysis tool (a Power/Interest Grid), and a Communications Plan.
Learning Objectives:
Review the importance of and process for completing a stakeholder inventory and analysis.
Describe stakeholder categories according to degree of interest and influence on a project.
Perform stakeholder identification and analysis for a case study project.
Recognize common communication barriers and how to overcome them.
Know attributes of the Sender-Receiver communications model.
Determine appropriate communications media choices for different project stakeholder needs.
Explain how team development stages affect project communications.
Define “emotional intelligence” competencies associated with being emotionally intelligent.
Apply communication and stakeholder management concepts to create a tailored Communications Plan.
