Course Description

Leaders require strong written communication skills. And the ability to write well – whether emails, business letters, proposals, status reports, memos, performance reviews, planning documents, press releases, meeting agendas – is absolutely necessary regardless of your role in the organization. In an environment where we are writing any number of communications to any number of individuals throughout the day, it is essential to be effective immediately.

Strong business writing skills enable you to persuade, inform and motivate the receiver to take action. Written communication skills – or the lack thereof – makes a tremendous difference in how you are seen within the organization – by your peers, employees, and leadership.

This workshop will focus on building skills for effective and influential writing.  Effective business writing focuses on presenting messages in a clear, concise, and well-organized way.  Writing skills help each leader to impact others in various types of communications. 

This workshop provides a number of strategies and best practices for written communications, enabling participants to produce communications to achieve professional excellence and project a powerful, professional message to their audience.  Participants will write several assignments and gain feedback on their writing skills.  Attendees will leave the workshop with a variety of best practices and guidelines to ensure effective business writing, regardless of the type of document.
