Course Description
As more and more data is available for companies to leverage, becoming a data literate manager is an essential skill for career growth. Understanding how to begin can be a huge undertaking. This program is designed to help navigate this process.
In a collaborative learning environment, this workshop provides a practical guide on how to begin thinking about using data to answer business questions. This program provides an introduction to data analysis and will take the participants through a four-step data analysis process. During the workshop, core concepts and data analysis “best practices” will be introduced, and put into context through various exercises, scenarios and case studies. Participants will be asked to work on sample “projects” that will be completed within a specified timeframe.
Learning Objectives:
The workshop is designed to be an interactive session with case study and examples for the attendees to work on
Customized data sets and case studies are available to ensure course content is relevant to attendees
Articulate the Data Analysis four step process
Understand the difference between pro-active vs. reactive analytical mindset
Develop hypotheses for expected results for a business analysis
Be able to communicate the business need and associated data required to evaluate a problem
Identify common pitfalls and key factors to keep in mind when evaluating data
Identify the process needed to be able to develop actionable recommendations based off of the data analysis
