Course Description
This 2-day workshop introduces attendees to both individual and group factors that foster a productive and high-performing team environment. As a pre-workshop activity, attendees will complete two individual assessments: the Big Five Personality Model Assessment* and the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI Assessment)* to allow the workshop to focus particularly on the critical Forming and Storming stages of team development. This workshop can be delivered virtually or in person.
Learning Objectives:
Identify factors associated with high job satisfaction, motivation, and performance.
Self-assess personality characteristics within the Big Five Personality model (Assessment*.)
Understand the relationship between high performance and personality.
Identify properties associated with high-performing teams.
Know characteristics of team lifecycle development stages.
Identify and analyze stakeholders to better manage team communication.
Self-assess personal conflict management style via the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI Assessment*) and understand how and when different styles can be effectively applied.
Distinguish between “normal” and “crucial” conflict.
Understand how to effectively respond to and de-escalate conflict.
Analyze common group norms and decision-making approaches.
Identify next steps to encourage a positive and productive team environment.
